That was surely the worst cross in History.

I still like to think of that as a fantastic opportunistic goal perfectly executed.
Massuaku does have the ability to make things happen - unfortunately that’s at both ends of the pitch.

antonio shot from a centre , they were told to aim at goal with everything, cross or not great ball to mendy under pressure . The way he lined it up against the two defenders was class.

He was obviously trying to put a bend on the cross for soucek at the far post but the point at the you'd expect the ball to bend it wobbled and carried on straight ,it happens .

So if it was meant as a cross and if it had gone where he probably meant it to i.e. Near the far post Soucek was unmarked and wouldve scored.. The chelsea back 4 just stood and watched..

Mendy's body position was way off. Arthur thought. "Fuck it. I'm having a go." (You can see this. By him getting that extra space between the two Chelsea players. Then hitting it.) By the time Mendy's body caught up with his brain. All he can do is palm it off into the net. I think Moyes told the players to shoot on sight today.? Maybe he has found. Mendy's chink in armour.

I suspect that he was lining up a far post cross, but Mendy's positioning and the defender stepping back to give him half a yard were like Christmas, Eid, Ramadan & his birthday all coming in at the same time, so he just thought (or probably didn't even have time to think - his body language speaks volumes here) "Fuck it! Smack it and see where it goes!".
If it was, however, a complete fluke, what better way to beat the rent boys?

Think his football brain kicked in for half a second saw the goal keeper off his line and went for it .
A natural thing for a player playing at this level should have in his locker .
